Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Preparation for assessment

Level 3

This mandatory three day course will prepare those Teaching Assistants who are currently working at the expected level of an HLTA within school for their assessment for HLTA status by the Regional Provider of Assessment, Babcock 4S.

Successful completion of assessment leads to the awarding of the nationally recognised HLTA status.
This mandatory three-day preparation for assessment course addresses how candidates can provide evidence that they are competent in the 33 HLTA standards through:
  • written evidence - how to fill in the eight forms to demonstrate competence in standards through descriptions of activities undertaken
  • documentary evidence - how to compile your documentary evidence folder to back up your written accounts
  • assessment - how to register with the Teaching Agency for assessment and what to expect in terms of the assessment interviews.
As one of the largest Providers of Preparation in London, Mpowernet HLTA tutors deliver highly regarded preparation for assessment courses designed to lead you through to the assessment stage. This nationally recognised status confirms your competence in supporting teaching and learning in a variety of situations, including working one-to-one with pupils, small groups and whole classes (without the teacher present).
The course is administered by Mpowernet a division of our Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education. Please visit the mpowernet website for details of available course dates.
