Frontline Management - The art and science of management for improved performance
The starting point for the 'Developing Managers' programme, this half-day session gives new managers an overview of their role on the 'frontline' - above operations but below middle or senior management.
Relevant to every sector and type of organisation, the session begins with a review of the evolution of management theory, with the aim of enabling delegates to apply contemporary theory to the often complex contexts in which they operate. Building on this theoretical background, delegates then learn more about the range of capabilities needed to be an effective and efficient manager, while also examining the connections between managerial behaviour and organisational performance. As a result, delegates will start to develop their own understanding of the capabilities needed to perform effectively in their new role, and will begin to identify the managerial approaches and behaviours most relevant to their own organisation.
