Introduction to Palliative & End of Life Care

Paliative Care in an integral part of every health care professionals role. Palliative care is the holistic care of the patient with advanced progressive illness its goal is the achievement of the best quality of life for patients and families.

Such care needs to be available where the patient and carers want it to be delivered, in line with Government initiatives.

This module explores the principles of palliative care providing students with the framework from which to assess, plan and deliver holistic care at the end of life as part of an inter-professional team.

Assessment

The module will be assessed by a 6000 word essay on the analysis of the care given to an individual and their family
