Curricular and Structural Concepts For Lifelong Learning

This module intends to further expand the students understanding of the evidence base within learning, teaching and assessment. This will extend to the domains of the organisational, curricular and structural concepts of learning and teaching embedded within lifelong learning approaches, curriculum development theory, assessment and professional access and accreditation processes.

This will promote the holistic approach to learning and teaching in totality and how education positively impacts on healthcare delivery.Seminars, tutorials, presentations, workshops and on-line forum activities will be used to facilitate the learning and teaching process.
The overall aims are that the learner will be able:

  • To be cognisant of the expanded elements of learning and teaching within a healthcare context in order to create and sustain learning for life
  • To critically appraise the role of healthcare professionals as educators of their professions
In undertaking the second module students will have the opportunity to engage in sustained intellectual enquiry and complete the necessary academic credit for the Post Graduate Certificate award

For the assignment students will undertake an essay considering the elements that contribute to curricular and structural concepts of learning and teaching.
