Level 7

30 Credits

This module intends to introduce students to the core concepts of learning, teaching and assessment within a professional/higher educational context. The module will encourage the students to use effective models of reflection to develop and enhance their own teaching practices in light of relevant theoretical models of learning and their own experience as learners and teachers.

The module will address practical aspects of teaching from motivating learners through designing and utilising learning resources to enhance their teaching strategies. Additionally the module will provide guidance on planning sessions and courses to maximise the quality of the learning experience of learners incorporating critical analysis of educational feedback strategies. Seminars, tutorials, presentations, workshops and on-line forum activities will be used to facilitate the learning and teaching process.

The overall aims of this module are:

  • To critically examine their role as educators of their profession
