Caring for Children and Young People with Cancer

Level 5 and 6

The module is aimed at children's nurses working with children and young people, who are affected by a cancer diagnosis. The course gives the opportunity to develop the requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes required to effectively care for these children and their families. Students come from a variety of care settings, cancer centres, shared care settings and community settings. There is a practice and theoretical element to the module, so that some of your current practice must involve caring for children with cancer and their families.

Target audience

Registered children's nurses on Part 8 and Part 15 of the N&MC professional register.

Assessment

A 6000 word client care analysis.
Practice competencies, equivalent to 3000 words.
