Course summary
STaR aims to teach when, where and how to transfer patients safely and the procedures for before and after the transfer. The STaR two day course includes lectures, skills stations, workshops and trolley top simulations.

Candidates who have taken the course include; nurses, paramedics, ODPs, consultants and registrars. For suitability for other professionals, please contact the course co-ordinator.

- Understand what to do after a transfer
- Be able to demonstrate the transfer process

Assessment and certification
Continuous assessment throughout face to face skills stations and demonstration of simulation followed by a one hour multi choice question (MCQ) paper. Certification for the course is valid for 4 years.
