The module is designed for a range of health and social care professionals to explore and apply the principles of learning, assessing and mentoring within their care setting.Students will be facilitated to acquire the appropriate evidence based knowledge and skills to understand the process of learning, assessing and mentoring within the workplace and carry out the role of mentor / preceptor / facilitator / practice teacher / clinical educator in their respective professional settings.

An inquiry based learning (IBL) approach will be used for the classroom based delivery and students will be expected to explore theories and reflect on their experiences, in order to integrate theory and practice.

Assessment

The assessment is portfolio based, with a 4,000 word reflective account.
