ECG Workshop

An electrocardiogram provides valuable information on the heart. It is performed in various healthcare settings for the detection of coronary heart disease. To make a correct diagnosis correctly recorded electrocardiogram is paramount. Although the nurse/technician does not bear the responsibility for making a diagnosis, a knowledge of electrocardiographic changes indicating cardiac arrhythmias and myocardial Infarction is essential. This one day study day is designed to enable the students to apply the correct skills in recording a standard electrocardiogram and to recognise the basic electrocardiographic signs of myocardial Infraction and cardiac arrhythmias.
