Decontamination of Flexible Endoscopes Credited

This module is aimed at decontamination technician to decontamination leads. This on-line module aims to educate and inform evidence based practice that encompasses the decontamination of flexible endoscopes. Student learning will be facilitated by the university via a distance learning approach to acquire the appropriate knowledge and skills required to understand the process of medical device decontamination for flexible endoscopes. The module will cover individual preparation for the environment, the decontamination process for flexible endoscopes, packing, storage and traceability. In addition, it will explore both local and national policies and regulations regarding Health and Safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health and Reporting of Injuries, Disease and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations in the workplace.
Students will undertake a series of formative e-activities and a summative assessment of a 3,000 word written assignment at level 4
