Cervical Screening Update Day

Cancer of the cervix is a potentially preventable disease; early detection and treatment may reduce the need for invasive surgery and reduce morbidity and mortality in women. With increased knowledge, skills and understanding of the cervical diseases, health care professionals responsible for health promotion can contribute to the overall success of the screening programme by undertaking effective cervical screening, enabling rapid referral and treatment when necessary.
