After applying - what to expect
Read/print our Your Application leaflet.
Your Admissions Officer
Admissions Officers are allocated to specific courses and they develop a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Please contact your Admissions Officer if you need any advice or assistance and they will be happy to help you. Your Admissions Officer's name and contact details are shown at the foot of our letters and emails. If your question is not related to admissions they will be able to direct your query to another member of staff who can advise you.
Your Anglia Ruskin Student Identity Number (SID)
This is generated on receipt of your application and is shown in the header of all our emails/letters. Please be sure to quote it in any correspondence with us.
The majority of our correspondence is conducted via email and you should therefore ensure that any spam filters do not block emails ending in @anglia.ac.uk. If you have given a school or college email address please check that you will be able to access this during the summer. We strongly recommend that you check your email regularly, it is helpful to us and to you if you respond promptly when we contact you. It is essential that you let us know if your email address changes.

References
If your course requires a second reference to be provided you will be notified. References should be from someone who has known you in a professional capacity for at least 2 years, e.g. your course tutor or line manager. References from relatives or friends are not acceptable. If you are required to provide a second reference it is your responsibility to contact your referee to request this.
Third Party Contact
Under the terms of the Data Protection Act (1998) we may not discuss your application with a third party unless we have received written permission from you to do so. If you wish to nominate a third party to communicate with us on your behalf please email your Admissions Officer with authorisation and details of their name and contact information. If you are going to be out of the country you may find this to be of particular benefit. If you apply via UCAS and you wish to nominate a proxy to act on your behalf you can do this via the UCAS online application system or via UCAS Track.

Decisions
A decision will be made on your application once we have all the necessary information, this may include interview outcomes, test results, portfolio or written work.
If you have applied via UCAS/GTTR you may check the status of your application on UCAS/GTTR Track. UCAS/GTTR will send you notification of our decision and if we are making you an offer you will also receive a letter from us.
If you are invited to inteview you will receive further information at your interview on when to expect to receive a decision. Some of our interviewing courses employ a gathered field system, this allows all applicants who apply by a given date (e.g. the UCAS 15 January/GTTR 1 December deadline) to be considered on an equal basis, however it does mean that those who apply early may have to wait longer to be told the outcome of their interview.
If you have not applied via UCAS/GTTR because you wish to study part-time or as a postgraduate student you will receive a letter from us informing you of our decision.
Please read the details of any offer very carefully. You will be expected to meet the requirements of your offer within any deadlines given, if you will not be able to meet these please contact your Admissions Officer immediately, do not wait until the deadline. If you do not understand something in your offer letter please contact your Admissions Officer who will be pleased to clarify it for you.
We consider all applications fairly and offer places to applicants who have the potential to benefit from our courses. However places are limited and for some courses competition is intense, if we are not able to offer you a place we will do our best to provide helpful feedback.
