Pupils will be trading places at Anglia Ruskin

Young people from across the region will experience the excitement and adrenaline of dealing on a live trading floor when they take part in Essex's first inter-school Stock Market Challenge.

Stock Market Challenge, sponsored by HSBC, will involve 18 schools and takes place on Tuesday, 27 March at Anglia Ruskin University's Chelmsford campus.

HSBC has made this unique experience accessible to thousands of pupils by giving all the participating schools a free licence for the Stock Market Challenge online resource. In the run up to the event, Business Studies, Economics and Maths teachers have been running in-school challenges to select the 5 pupils who will represent them.

At the event, the Year 10 pupils will be challenged to use their skills to manage a portfolio of shares and foreign currency. They will make their investment decisions by interpreting and analysing information from the financial markets. The simulated live trading will take place over a 3-hour period and the team with the highest portfolio at the closing bell wins.
