The Birds Eye View Film Festival comes to Cambridge
Press release issued: 3 March 2009
Birds Eye View celebrates its fifth festival birthday by branching out across the UK, with a special event at Cambridge's Arts Picturehouse on International Women's Day, March 8 at 3.30pm. Birds Eye View re-run their Opening Night programme of the best new international female film-making talent - a truly stunning selection of brilliant and diverse short films - including Sam Taylor-Wood's amazing Love You More (pictured), Harry Wootliff's powerful and affecting Trip and the gripping Sundance winner August 15 from Jiang Xuan.
The screening, supported by the MA Film Studies at Anglia Ruskin University, will be followed by a networking party in the Arts Picturehouse Bar. Successful local female film-makers will be showing their films and installations, and talks on cinema will be given by Anglia Ruskin University film lecturers. Representatives attending the event are from Vital Communities, Wysing Arts Centre and the Cambridge Film Network. Stalls will also be manned by a range of exciting groups connected to film and women, including the Cambridge Super 8 Film Festival, Amnesty International (women's issues) and NEUF Film Network.
