Griff Rhys Jones opens new performing arts space
Press release issued: 8 November 2011
"As an honorary fellow of Anglia Ruskin University I am delighted to be able to return to Cambridge to open the new drama and performing arts space.
"In fact as, someone who has frequented a few draughty rehearsal halls in my time it's wonderful that the students have something that's purpose built for their needs. This is the bright future and hugely welcome.
"In these difficult economic times it is a great achievement to have managed to get this space funded, supported and built and I am full of congratulations for everyone involved. Now let's get dancing, acting and performing."
"Everyone in the Music and Performing Arts department is very excited by this new facility and we are delighted to welcome Griff back to Cambridge for its official opening.
"The wider development also brings new lecture theatres, classrooms, student works spaces, social spaces and, of course, the Lord Ashcroft International Business School, making Anglia Ruskin's Cambridge campus a truly 21st-century place to study."
