Improving information delivery to our staff and students
Press release issued: 9 November 2009
A completely new way of accessing key internal information via Anglia Ruskin's intranet (ANET) launches this week. Each user will see a personalised homepage when visiting the site, offering them key links to the information contained within ANET.
All of ANET will get a facelift with the introduction of a fresh and modern new design. The name ANET will also be consigned to history as the whole site is being given a new name to mark the launch: My.Anglia.

Rhys Roberts, Lead Developer on the project said:
"This launch is the result of extensive collaboration and consultation with both staff and students. Before commencing the project we became aware of concerns that information was not organised logically, and in many cases it was difficult to find. The aim with My.Anglia was to address those concerns and create easy routes to key information.
The project's long-term aim is to create a single access point for disparate University information. We hope this launch is a solid first step in that direction."
My.Anglia has been trialled by a pilot group of both staff and students since September. Their feedback has been invaluable and has resulted in further developments and enhancements prior to this launch.
Features of My.Anglia include:
- a fresh, modern design, with a layout which guides users to key information quickly and easily.
- completely re-designed staff and student homepages with information assembled into logical groups. The unwieldy left navigation panel has been completely removed with the key links featured in a new horizontal menu accessible from anywhere within My.Anglia.
- key student information has been organised to match the student lifecycle - we start with Freshers' Week, progress all the way through the student life to end in the triumph of Graduation before moving on to employment.
- the ability for students to see their library loans record and direct links to their registration, timetable and results in e-Vision
Additional functionality and enhancements will be introduced in the coming months. Staff and students will have an opportunity to give their feedback on My.Anglia in the lead up to Christmas.
