High fliers to study university degrees - from Afghanistan!
Press release issued: 5 July 2011
"We currently have RAF Medics working in the Falklands, Afghanistan and numerous other countries around the world, as well as in the UK.
"We have an education centre at our base in Kandahar where RAF Medics will be able to access the course via the internet. In fact, when RAF Medics are on postings such as Afghanistan, studying for an online degree is a perfect way of filling their downtime.
"Anglia Ruskin offers a range of quality Health and Social Care courses, which were exactly what we were looking for. We then visited the university and were incredibly impressed by the excellent facilities on offer.
"The opportunities now available to RAF Medic personnel provide an excellent path for them to achieve high-value Higher Education qualifications in their area."
"Through this latest Higher Skills@Work initiative we are able to provide training to RAF Medics with academic credit, which may then be topped-up via a range of Anglia Ruskin distance learning courses to achieve a full undergraduate degree.
"Our Anglia Ruskin/RAF distance learning courses are designed specifically to build the professional skills and knowledge to meet the challenges of operating in this arena, and to ensure the continuation of a high-quality learning experience during overseas postings."
