Entrepreneurship students from Anglia Ruskin University are organising a charity auction dinner on behalf of Help for Heroes, hosted by Bernard Hill with Jeffrey Archer as the auctioneer.

The University Arms Hotel in Cambridge is to host the dinner which will take place on Saturday May 7 2011 with guests arriving at 6.30pm for reception and carriages at midnight.

The event is organised by a team of 5 degree students reading Enterprise & Entrepreneurial Management as part of their major final year project. Their aim is to contribute to society whilst developing their entrepreneurial abilities and initiative.

Help for Heroes has currently raised over £87 million for worthy causes, physically and mentally aiding our wounded soldiers and their families. This charity was chosen as most of society can relate to such a worthy cause. Their model is one that pays staffing costs with the merchandise they sell online, so all donations can go to the right places.

The evening will include a welcome reception, a three-course dinner, followed by an auction with Jeffrey Archer. Lots have been donated from all over the country, and include a V.I.P day with The Red Arrows for two, a holiday for four people in a luxury five star accommodation in South Africa and a V.I.P trip around Marshalls Aerospace, lunch in the boardroom plus a flight over Cambridge.

A raffle will also take place during the evening with some exclusive prizes, including a flight over Essex, a makeover, a personalised luggage and a collectable "10 Downing Street" Parker Pen.

Entertainment will also be a big part of the evening including services such as magician Rob Gough, the St. Neots cadets, musicians and singers.

Event Manager Melinda Dowson said:

"We appreciate the amount of support that companies and individuals have given us. Ticket sales are progressing well and we are looking forward to a successful fundraising event which will go towards providing help for our heroes and their families."

Tickets are £80 per person or £700 for a table of ten. To purchase or for more information visit our website at hhauction.org. There you can also find a current list of our supporters plus all lots and raffle prizes.
