University picks up higher education sector award

Chelmsford and Cambridge based Anglia Ruskin University is celebrating being awarded a bronze award in one of the categories of the 2010 HEIST awards - the Best Postgraduate Prospectus award. The annual HEIST awards recognise excellence in further and higher education marketing and are the most competitive marketing awards in the sector.

After being confirmed bronze winner, Gayle Daley, Senior Marketing Executive, said:

"I am very proud to have been awarded the bronze award in the Best Postgraduate Prospectus category this year. I made significant changes to our postgraduate prospectus last year following staff and student feedback. My aim is to develop our postgraduate prospectus further still for the next academic year. Bronze is a great start, but I'm aiming for gold next year!"

Anglia Ruskin's Postgraduate Prospectus was recognised for its relevance to the demands of a changing market.

Speaking about the prospectus before the awards, Gayle Daley commented:

"The key challenge in building and promoting our full-time postgraduate portfolio of courses was to address the overarching need to provide courses that fit our students' personal circumstances and professional requirements. Our postgraduate prospectus ensures relevance to the individual and the economy, offering our prospective postgraduate students a range of courses that will equip them with the extra skills or experience needed to differentiate their CV in a more competitive employment market."

Anglia Ruskin secured a nominations in the category of Best Higher Education Prospectus for three of its other publications. These included the Full-time Undergraduate Prospectus, Part-time Catalogue and Full-time Undergraduate Personalised Prospectus. Anglia Ruskin's 2009 Part-time Catalogue was awarded the Bronze Award in its category last year, and continues to be recognised as a leader in best practice with this year's nomination. While the Undergraduate and Personalised Prospectuses have been shortlisted for their innovative new design, bespoke magazine style size and advanced use of technological developments during their production.

The Faculty of Health & Social Care was also shortlisted in the Best Integrated Campaign category for further enhancing its recruitment campaign by focusing on student conversion and retention.

The work of Anglia Ruskin University's Marketing Department was celebrated on a whole with its shortlisting for HEIST's prestigious Marketing Department of the Year. The Department, based cross-campus at Chelmsford and Cambridge, has been working hard to deliver an engaging, innovative and effective online prospectus, which has enabled Anglia Ruskin to streamline its offline prospectus production process and use the latest print on demand technologies.

The winners of the 20th HEIST awards were announced at an Awards Gala Dinner held at the Palace Hotel in Manchester on 27 May 2010.
