"There is a lot to think about when considering if university is going to be your next step, and we want to make sure that students and their parents have the most up-to-date information available to them.

"Through discussions with staff in local schools and with potential university students, we have found that the upcoming changes to university fees and the finance system have caused a lot of confusion.

"When people understand the various types of financial support that's in place, they often realise that university is still very much an option for them. It's important to remember that university students will pay nothing up front next year and the National Scholarship Programme will be in place to help students from lower income backgrounds.

"We wanted to do something to make sure local students are up to date with the facts, and the result is our fantastic Roadshow. The bus will be visiting hundreds of young people across the region, delivering a range of talks and activities about all aspects of applying to university."
