Anglia Ruskin University is hosting an Open Afternoon at Guild House in Peterborough on Wednesday, 8 February, for anyone interested in a career in social work.

Social work experts from the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education will be on hand to offer information about the BA (Hons) Social Work degree, which runs over four years on a part-time basis, and there will be an opportunity to meet current students and discover what it is like to study at Anglia Ruskin's new Guild House campus.

Kathy Kingham, the Pathway Leader for the course said:

"The course on offer at Guild House is fairly unique as there are only a handful of part-time social work degree courses in the UK.

"The course will appeal to people already working in social care who want to gain a formal qualification, but it's also ideal for people who are currently out of employment and want to return to the workplace in the future and those who want to change the focus of their careers.

"The new facilities on offer for students at Guild House are fantastic and really enhance the learning experience. It is another example of improving the higher education provision in Peterborough."

Entry requirements for the course are two passes at A-Level and passes in three other subjects at GCSE (A*-C), including Mathematics and English, and some experience of social care is desirable.

The Open Afternoon on 8 February runs from 3.30-6.30pm, with a course presentation at 4.30pm. If you wish to attend, please call 0845 196 4000 or email jonathan@anglia.ac.uk
