Anglia Sinfonia prepares for polished performance

Top performing musicians from Anglia Ruskin University's Anglia Sinfonia are preparing to perform with internationally-acclaimed contemporary pianist Philip Mead at a concert in West Road Concert Hall on 16 November.

The Sinfonia will be joined by the pianist for a presentation of three world premières including David Crilly's Eversion, for chamber orchestra and sound projection, Rob Godman's Duel, for piano solo and electronics. Kevin Flanagan's new oratorio The Ten Thousand Things (to a text by the Rev. Malcolm Guite) is based on the life of two 16th century Jesuit missionaries in the Orient, Matteo Ricci and Francis Xavier and the shock of their subsequent collisions with completely foreign cultures.
