Anglia Ruskin University extends animation focus through new India tie-up
Press release issued: 2 July 2008
Frameboxx, which already has 40 training centres throughout India after launching last December, offers a number of courses featuring skill set specialisations to suit the needs of this fast-growing industry that anticipates requiring 300,000 trained animators by the end of 2008.
India is the most favoured destination for Hollywood's outsourced animation work, and the rest of the demand comes from India's own entertainment industry. Mega successes of movies like Spiderman, Finding Nemo, as well as Indian titles including Hanuman and Krrish have propelled animation studios to start their own productions in India.
"Our accreditation of this programme, which we hope will be the first of many, provides a seal of approval for Frameboxx's programmes and will give future employers the quality assurances they demand. After a successful evaluation of course materials, student support, assessments and teaching staff, Anglia Ruskin University has agreed to accredit the core programmes available, starting with Redboxx 2.
"Our evaluation has indicated that Frameboxx is a highly professional organisation, offering a portfolio of highly credible programmes to meet the requirements of India's animation industry and educate the animators of the future. It also demonstrates the massive growth in recent years - and future potential - of India's animation industry. Frameboxx is uniquely positioned to provide the skilled and talented workers needed to fuel this growth, and Anglia Ruskin University is delighted to be the chosen partner in this field."
"Frameboxx has always delivered beyond the industry's expectations and I'm happy that this tie-up has once again reinforced our quality benchmarks. As well as accrediting courses, Anglia Ruskin University will also be involved in elevating the standards of training and curriculum including exchange programmes and other initiatives."
