Public art commission: Duncan Speakman
Artist Duncan Speakman (aka 'Circumstance') will create a major new project for Cambridge Campus students, staff and surrounding local resident participation. Duncan will create what he calls a 'pervasive experience' that spreads throughout the city. Using combinations of art, sound, performance with portable and online technologies, different sites across Cambridge will be connected and invite us, the participants, to experience our city in new ways.
From September 2011 to March 2012, Duncan will work with students, staff and Cambridge residents to develop and test the project leading to final events during Spring 2012. Duncan will also explore how to create a lasting legacy from the project, enabling future residents and visitors to experience the city through his work.
