Wednesday 27 January 2010, 16.30 - 19.30 at Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge Campus, Coslett Building Lecture Theatre, with Chris Parkhouse, Founder and Managing Director, Deyton Bell Ltd and Dr Wei Wang, Managing Director of 2W China Investment Consulting Ltd.
Objective of the seminar:
  • To give business owner managers and directors an opportunity to explore a range of ideas and new perspectives that could take their business in new directions.
  • To help companies affected by the economic downturn to strengthen their businesses through learning from theory and practice what works and what doesn't so they can be well placed to take advantage of the upturn when it comes.

The Building bridges: collaboration & partnership seminar will look at how working with third parties can bring benefits...and challenges, whether via collaboration, joint venture, partnership, cooperation or strategic alliances:
  • What are the potential risks or rewards, and should they be shared?
  • Key lessons from past experience and how to use the learning going forward.
  • Who does it and why?
  • When and how different models work...and don't, and the issues associated with them.

The specialist speaker is Chris Parkhouse, Founder and Managing Director of Deyton Bell Ltd, a business development company based in Cambridge, who offer a range of consultancy, outsourced and interim management solutions to organisations of all sizes and from all sectors, both at home and overseas. Chris is Chairman of Business Link East and Chairman of The Institute of Directors for the Eastern Region. He is Chairman of the Cambridge International Relations Forum, a member of the Chamber of Commerce International Committee, a Fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management, and a member of the British American Business Council.

The business speaker is Dr Wei Wang is Managing Director of 2W China Investment Consulting Ltd. Dr Wang has had over fifteen years of international business experience. In particular, he has been at the core of developing a number of multi-million dollar business ventures for a global conglomerate in China. He is author of The China Executive, a world's top-five bestseller on China business, and is a sought-after keynote speaker at conferences on China. Following education in China, he received an MBA and PhD in manufacturing engineering from Loughborough University, UK. To explore what China has to contribute to the world in the 21st century, aside from business consulting, he has launched ventures in publishing, health care and education services, and runs thechinaforum.com. Dr Wang's research interests include: management and leadership, strategy, international business, China and the world, worldviews.
