Anglia Ruskin University currently delivers social work training across three sites in East Anglia: Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough. The social work course is rated one of the top programmes in the country.Social Work is a national occupation and students are required to undertake a degree before they can become qualified practitioners.
The Qualifying Programmes
The BA Social Work Programme
At Anglia Ruskin University undergraduate students take the BA (Hons) Social Work. Students undertake taught modules that make up credits towards their degree. Each module is assessed according to specific academic and practice criteria that must demonstrate competence to practice. They must undertake two one hundred day placements, one in a children's setting and one in an adults' setting, from within a variety of voluntary and statutory sector settings.
The MA Social Work programme
The MA Social Work is a full time 2 year postgraduate qualifying course in social work for students already holding a degree. They have to meet the same practice requirements as those in the undergraduate programme.
