Changing Spaces: Magpie Triptych
Date: 12 May - 16 June 2010
Venue: The former Zavvi building, Grafton Centre, Cambridge
An exhibition by Patsy Rathbone, Master of Fine Art student.
This work explores the artistic practice of appropriation. At what point does the work become the artist's when its many disparate parts belong to other sites and functions?
Patsy uses found imagery and fabrics as materials. By relocating the familiar, it remains recognisable but its meaning becomes elusive.
This exhibition is part of Changing Spaces, an exciting new initiative set up by Cambridge City Council, Love Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University to use empty spaces in the city of Cambridge.
