A solo exhibition by PhD student Rosalind Lyons Hudson
Date: 30 April - 12 August
Time: 9.00 - 17.00
Venue: Shakespeare's Globe, London
Ambiguity and transformation are themes that thread through the work of this highly imaginative artist. Rosalind cites Renaissance, Tudor and Jacobean painting as significant influences, yet her oil on panel works display a contemporary clarity and palette.
Shakespearean theatre has featured strongly in the artist's work during recent years and continues to be a principal focus. This exhibition was the culmination of Rosalind's period as artist in residence at Shakespeare's Globe.
The paintings were developed from observation of performance and rehearsal as well as archival research.
Rosalind has exhibited her work widely for several years in galleries throughout the UK. In 2010 she worked closely with the National Trust to create a unique exhibition in Blickling Hall, Norfolk. She is currently studying for a practice-based PhD, exploring ambiguity, liminality and transformation in Shakespearean theatre.
A complimentary folio of publications and future exhibition details is available from The Red Dot Gallery.
