Heterotopia
A 2-part exhibition by 3rd year BA (Hons) Fine Art students
Part One
Date: 7-22 February 2013
Venue: Ruskin Gallery Corridor
Private view: Thursday 7 February, 17.00
Part Two
Date: 21 March - 19 April
Venue: Ruskin Gallery Corridor
Private view: Thursday 21 March, 17.00
The term 'Heterotopia' was first elaborated by philosopher Michel Foucault. This 2-part exhibition specifically looked at the word in the context of space and otherness, a state between reality and fantasy, love and fear, physicality and ephemera. In a society desperately concerned with the materiality of objects and consumerism, these shows explored the concept of the in-between.
The two shows were organised, curated, marketed and co-ordinated entirely by current 3rd year Fine Art students at the Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University.
