Professor Tony Young
Director of Medical InnovationTony is a consultant urological surgeon with a lifelong passion for invention and improving practice. He has brought numerous patented medical devices to market and understands the pitfalls and barriers than line a concepts journey through development. He is pioneering in the new 'open innovation' philosophy in the MedTech sector, strongly believing partnership is essential to progress and that a professionally supported innovator must be the driving force behind bringing their product to market.
Dr Thomas Keeble
Lecturer Medical InnovationThomas is a specialist registrar in cardiology, a field that has seen groundbreaking medical device implementation over the past decade. He has been awarded over £2 million in grant funding to help develop his innovation portfolio, including numerous intravascular devices and a 'first in man' study. Dr Keeble is a strong believer in the merits of gathering a quality, experienced team to collaborate in all stages of the innovation process.
Dr Nicholas Wilson
Innovation FellowDr Wilson works as a junior doctor on the frontline of NHS patient care. He took a year out of clinical training to work in the innovation department whilst completing a Masters degree in Trauma Science. As innovation fellow, Nicholas plays a key role in assessing the feasibility of new concepts and designing protocols for device development.
