START Course - Simulated Transfer and Retrieval Training
The START course is a one day multidisciplinary course for all those who deal with critically ill patients requiring transfer - anaesthetists, intensivists, ODPs, critical care nurses and emergency medical personnel. It includes:
- A full day of simulated practice of transferring critically ill patients in our high fidelity simulation suite
- A systematic approach to transfer, for both real life and exams
- Both inter- and intra-hospital scenarios
- Preparation of patients, transfer and reception
- Management of critical incidents on route
- Feedback on practical and human factor aspects
Next course dates : 21st June 2013 & 25th September 2013
The course is facilitated by Consultant Anaesthetists, Senior Critical Care Nurses and Senior ODPs from Broomfield and Southend Hospitals.
