Developmental conversation - Advanced coaching skills for appraisers, supervisors and mentors

Appraisal, supervision, mentoring and teaching are different, but there are core skills that are common to all.

This interactive programme focuses on the advanced coaching skills required to conduct an effective developmental conversation.

Workshop objectives:

Purpose and features of a developmental conversation
Consider why people may not engage in their own development, and the options for how to respond
Examine the art and science of good listening
Practice the GROW coaching model
Explore risks and benefits of an identified change
Shape and build commitment to developmental objectives
Discuss case studies from supervision, mentoring and appraising contexts
Explore new approaches in developmental conversations, appreciative enquiry and clean language
