Clinical Expertise

  • Consultant Clinical Psychologist with a special interest in Clinical NeuroPsychology and Secure Forensic Work.
  • Specific interest in the appraisal of risk, malingering, prediction of outcome and efficient delivery of psychotherapeutic interventions.

Research Interest

  • Application of Rasch analysis to develop and refine understanding of:
  • Crisis States in Mental Health
  • Structure of Psychiatric Diagnoses
  • Prediction of Outcome Following Severe Acquired Brain Injuries
  • Enhancing access and reducing variability of interventions through the development of the manualised approaches for specific clinical problems/ populations (common mental disorders, minority health, and crisis states)

Innovation Interest

  • Tele-health applications within brain injury rehabilitation and criminal justice settings.
  • Use of GPS technology in the assessment of community reintegration and treatment outcome.
  • Use of mobile phone technology as a compensatory cognitive device to reduce incidence of memory and planning failures.
