Student Money Advice Service

The Student Money Advisers offer advice and information on student funding, including entitlement to loans and grants, funding for tuition fees and money management. We administer the University's Access to Learning Fund (ALF), which provides help for students experiencing financial difficulties.

For more information about funding available for UK and EU students can be found on the Student Finance Direct website.

Accommodation

University Accommodation Services (UAS) operates halls of residence on campuses at Cambridge and Chelmsford, where many new students live in their first year. All University-managed halls have Residential Assistants (RAs). RAs are there to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our students. They provide out-of-hours cover including emergency response and work alongside University security staff, who are based on the main campuses 24 hours a day.

Counselling and Wellbeing service

Our Counselling and Wellbeing Service is made up of counsellors who have a wealth of experience in helping students deal with all sorts of issues like homesickness, adjustment, coping with the workload or relationships.

Students can sample counselling workshops during Welcome Week.

Students' Union advice service

The Students' Union advice service offers students impartial advice, information, support and representation on all issues which affect them.

Health

In Cambridge we have a Medical Centre and a Campus Nurse and in Chelmsford we have an on-site GP Practice.

Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy offers time for exploring issues of faith (whatever the starting point) and a place where spiritual and personal issues can be discussed in confidence. Chaplains of different denominations work together to help with many aspects of student life. Our Chaplaincy offers a range of social events on-campus throughout the academic year.
