Nuffield Research Placements

Suitable for: Year 12

Each year the University is pleased to host a number of Nuffield Research placement students. Previous students have been placed in our Global Sustainability Institute looking at Science, Communication and the Media, and in the department of Computing and Technology using the MATLAB programme to analyse the acoustic properties of materials. students work in these areas for a period of 4-6 weeks over the summer.

Routes into Languages East

Suitable for: Years 7-13

A Government funded project with university consortia working with secondary schools to promote language learning. Anglia Ruskin University is the lead institution of Routes into Languages East. The other members are Cambridge University, the Open University, UEA and Hertfordshire University.

We run fun, motivating projects including spelling, film, poetry and singing competitions; a language leader award; a languages challenge (also part of the Children's university) and much more. We also give interactive "Why Study Languages?" talks for Year 7-13.


Spectroscopy in a Suitcase with the Royal Society of Chemistry

Suitable for: Year 12 and 13 Chemistry A-Level Students

In collaboration with the Royal Society of Chemistry, the University runs Spectroscopy in a Suitcase both in school and on campus. Sessions on Infra-red and UV -Vis Spectrometers are available and may be run either on campus on in school. Our current students are integral to the experience and are always pleased to speak to others about life as a student.
