Cambridge new developments
New eye clinic on Cambridge campus
This development will provide a permanent home on our campus for the University Eye Clinic, which is currently housed in temporary buildings.
Construction started in April 2012. We anticipate that the building will be open in January 2013.
Young Street proposals
We are seeking to develop a 3.5 hectare site between Young Street and New Street, about five minutes walk from our Cambridge campus.
The development would house our Faculty of Health and Social Care, providing mainly nurse education. The Faculty is based in Fulbourn, where our lease terminates in 2013.
The currently derelict site has a history of use for education, and as part of the development we plan to restore the Ragged School, a Victorian building of local importance.
We have conducted a public consultation about our proposals. You can view the original plans in the briefing pack below, but please note that we have made some amends to the plans to take into account our neighbours' feedback during the consultation, and our proposals are now with the council for planning permission.
