When No One Dare Speak Out

The venue for this production is Anglia Ruskin Drama Studio, Covent Garden, Cambridge

Thursday 11 - Saturday 13 April, 7.30pm

Two one-act plays from local playwright Sean Lang about the perils of speaking out when others do not want to hear.

The Necessity of Atheism is a riotous comedy about how the young radical poet Percy Bysshe Shelley was thrown out of Oxford at the height of the Napoleonic Wars for daring to question the existence of God.

Based on a true story, The Usual Incentive tells how in 1900 a young British shipping company employee discovers the true nature of Belgian rule in the Congo and has to resolve his conflicting duties to his family and to the truth.
