Parole is the light at the end of the tunnel for Melanie - sentenced to life imprisonment at the tender age of 20, when Callaghan was at Number 10, Carter was president of the USA and ELO had just begun their world tour.

In this new play Melanie blows the dust off the shadows of her past to reveal a woman governed and destined by her principles, as she contemplates her latest application for parole and freedom.

Jane Carter Woodrow has a PhD in Criminology from Cambridge and has has spent many years working with both offenders and victims of violent crime. She has worked as a scriptwriter on several high-profile television dramas, including In Suspicious Circumstances and The Bill. Her book Rose West: the making of a monster has been recently published by Hodder & Stoughton.
