Comparison of the efficiency of lavage fluids in the cleaning of bone during hip replacement

Pulsed lavage is principally used in orthopaedic operations to clean bone surfaces prior to the application of bone cement in order to improve the strength of the final bone cement interface. The efficiency of various lavage fluids in cleaning fat, marrow and debris from the bone spaces has been investigated.
