MERG has recently invested in a Bose ElectroForce material testing machine is used to investigate the material properties of soft tissues, such as cartilage, meniscus, tendon and ligaments, as well as bones. The Instron testing machine is used to investigate static and dynamic mechanical properties of materials, to assess performances of implant designs and surgical fixation techniques and to verify finite element models. The Hounsfield testing machine is used to investigate static mechanical properties of materials and components.
