Low Carbon KEEP

For Graduates

A drawing of a big building with arrows
The Low Carbon KEEP programme offers graduates the opportunity to gain paid industry experience, specifically in the field that they have studied. On top of this you will receive weekly support from an academic supervisor with a specialism in that field. This will enable you to continue to learn and develop your own expertise whilst you work.

Companies are looking for high quality graduates who can hit the ground running and add real value to their organisation.

Am I eligible to work on a Low Carbon KEEP?

Typically a graduate has completed a Bachelors degree in the past 5 years; however there are special circumstances in which the business will request an exceptional set of skills. Under these conditions the programme will look to employ a person that has completed a masters, MBA or PhD. Alternatively if a this level of education is not required, the minimum education level to qualify as a Low Carbon KEEP asociate is NVQ Level 3. Details about this can be found on individual job advertisements.

How long will the job last?

Projects last between 4 and 18 months. You will be expected to work on the project for its duration. It is a great opportunity to make a good impression with a business and prove to them how good you are at your job. It is not unusual for businesses to hire graduates following a Knowledge Transfer Partnership.

How do I find a position with a Low Carbon KEEP?

Low Carbon KEEP vacancies will be advertised by the individual university, setting up a Google alert for 'Low Carbon KEEP Associate' is one way to keep an eye out for opportunities. However, if you are currently working with a business, it might be possible to extend that project into a Low Carbon KEEP project. If you think this might apply to you, please contact the Low Carbon KEEP team for guidance.

Where will I work?

You will spend your time working at the business participating in the partnership. Your role will be to act as a conduit for information from a university or college expert. All businesses will be within the East of England counties: Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Suffolk

Who will hire me?

The university or college working on the project will be your employer. They will be in charge of hiring and paying your wages. However, the business involved will participate in the hiring process.

Who should I contact with questions?
