Performance Judo
British University and Colleges Mens team Champions 2011
Performance judo at Anglia Ruskin is delivered partnership with Comberton Sixth form. The performance program allows individuals to study a variety of courses, In Cambridge, one of the student capitals of the world, at either sixth form level or university undergraduate level, we also offer a variety of options for postgraduates.
The performance program will start in September 2012 and will provide athletes with 20hrs of judo specific training, both mat based and strength and conditioning. The judo program will be delivered both on campus and at the dojo in Comberton.
Internships
For judoka who do not want to train full-time we are offering other opportunities to be including within our performance program whilst studying:
Coaching Internship - we will offer the opportunity to coach judo in our schools and club program and be mentored whilst doing so, students will also be able to "earn while they learn".
Performance Analysis Internship - In order to support our performance players we aim to offer internships in performance analysis. The analysts will be mentored and will travel with the team to competitions.
Refereeing - A performance program cannot survive without referee input. Our aim is to attract students who are interested in refereeing at the highest level and support them through our large judo network to become outstanding referees and ambassadors for Great Britain.
It is expected our most competitive players will focus solely on training, and individuals who take up internships will partake in the judo sessions they want to but will not commit to the full 20hrs per week.
