Profile
Teemu Kautonen is Professor of Enterprise and Innovation in the Institute for International Management Practice and a member of CEDAR (Centre for Enterprise Development and Research). He is also a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Turku (Finland). Teemu has worked in academia since 2001 in Finland, Germany and the UK. He received his PhD in 2005 from the University of Wuppertal (Germany).Teemu' s current funded research projects address the following topics: senior entrepreneurship (funded by the Academy of Finland 2009-2014 with 500,000 Euros), the role of the social environment in customer value creation (funded by the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation 2012-2014 with 560,000 Euros) and the role of trust in bank-SME relationships (funded by the OP Pohjola Group Research Foundation with 40,000 Euros). His other current research topics include factors influencing the translation of entrepreneurial intentions into start-up activities and the role of norms in shaping individual entrepreneurial behaviour.
Teemu has published extensively on entrepreneurship, small business management and enterprise policy in journals such as Entrepreneurship & Regional Development, International Small Business Journal, International Journal of Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Research and Small Business Economics. His research has a strong quantitative focus.
Teemu serves in the editorial boards of Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour & Research, International Small Business Journal and Journal of Trust Research.
He has advised the Finnish and German governments and the OECD on enterprise policy matters.
