Stuart Hamer Honorary Master of Science, 1992
Bio | Citation

Stuart Hamer graduated from Durham University and began his career as a Work Study Engineer with Ilford Ltd. In 1966 he joined the Ford Motor Company as an Organisation Analyst and soon progressed through a number of roles including Director of Employee Affairs and Personnel Director for Manufacturing Operations in Europe. When he became Director of Education and Training, Stuart set about reorganising and revitalising the education and training programmes used by the company, a move that included the introduction of degree programmes designed to enhance the skills of existing engineering staff. Stuart has always promoted closer links between higher education and industry, recognising the benefits that both parties can reap from such a relationship, and he has been a committed supporter of Anglia Ruskin's efforts to create courses that equip students with the skills required by modern industry. The value of his work was reflected in his appointment as Human Resources Director, Ford of Europe.

In 1992 Stuart Hamer was awarded an Honorary Master of Science.
