What is the dress code for the ceremonies?

Graduation ceremonies are formal events, and therefore we recommend smart dress. Trainers, denim or casual wear aren't appropriate. We would welcome those who wish to wear traditional or national dress.

Please bear in mind that the gowns are quite heavy and that they will need to be secured to your normal clothes in order to stay in place. It's a good idea to bring along some safety pins, and you may need hair grips to secure the mortar board.

How do I order my gown?

Ede & Ravenscroft are Anglia Ruskin University's official supplier of graduation gowns. You can order your gown from 22 July at www.gownhire.co.uk

Ordering online
You'll be able to take advantage of an online discount from Ede & Ravenscroft if you order your gown in advance.

Ordering by phone
Orders can also be placed over the telephone by calling 01223 861854. Opening hours are 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. Please note that you'll not receive the online discount if you order by telephone.

All gown orders made by telephone will be followed up by a confirmation card sent via the post. Please bring your confirmation card with you on the day.

Facilities for the deaf and hard-of-hearing or those with speech impairment are available using a text phone. Dial 1800 101223 861854 to access the RNID Type talk system.

What if I'm late ordering my gown?

Orders placed less than 21 days prior to your ceremony cannot be guaranteed. Check the Ede & Ravenscroft website to see if your ceremony date option is still available, or contact them by telephone to confirm your order can still be accepted on 01223 861854.

Where do I collect my gown?

• Peterborough - The Bull Hotel (Lincoln Room)
• Cambridge - Kesley Kerridge Sports Centre (Main Sports Hall)
• Chelmsford - Riverside Ice & Leisure Centre (Main Sports Hall)

Where do I return my gown?

All gowns should be returned by the times listed below.

Peterborough
Peterborough Cathedral. Last return by 4.00pm.

Cambridge
Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre (Main Sports Hall) or The Street, Helmore Building, East Road campus.
Last return by 9.30pm.

Chelmsford
Riverside Ice & Leisure Centre (Main Sports Hall) or Foyer Marconi Building, Chelmsford campus.
Last return 9.30pm.

What if I've ordered a gown and my September award is not confirmed?

If you've already arranged gown hire, contact Ede & Ravenscroft Limited immediately. They have a 7 day cancellation policy, and will charge £1.50 administration fee for cancellations.
