Message from the Vice Chancellor
"As a donor myself, I am delighted to be supporting Anglia Ruskin in its advancement of knowledge and contribution to society"

Professor Michael Thorne, Vice Chancellor
The developments we have undertaken in Chelmsford and Cambridge over the last decade have transformed our campuses to the degree that when alumni re-visit they describe their old university as 'unrecognisable'. There can be no better testament to the progress we have made at Anglia Ruskin University than the words of one our alumni recommending their experience here.
I am also pleased to say that amidst the economic uncertainty that has descended upon Higher Education institutions, Anglia Ruskin is standing up well to the impending funding cuts and we are taking measures to ensure we continue to thrive. We have every reason to remain positive and our efforts to secure alternative funding have already met with great success. Our non-government income has more than doubled and over the last four years we have received almost £9 million from philanthropic giving, helping us realise our ambitions. External income is essential to Anglia Ruskin and we thank everybody who has committed to support our great University.
With this financial backing, our Music Therapy department at Cambridge is producing world leading research and vital assistance for people with ill-health and disabilities on a daily basis; our Postgraduate Medical Institute is attracting the world's top surgeons; and the Lord Ashcroft International Business School has a brand new state-of-the-art building in Cambridge - I could go on. These achievements really are something to shout about and it is thanks to the magnificent support that we have received from our alumni and many other friends and stakeholders that we have been able to do this.
Our continued achievement has brought great satisfaction to us, and I feel sure that you will feel the same. However, this does not mean that we are happy to simply sit back on our recent success. We have great ambition and plans for further development, but we cannot do it alone. I ask you all to consider making a donation to invest in the future of our University, our students and all those across the world who benefit from the positive impact of our work.
Thank you
