Anglia Ruskin University is pleased to present three young artist-researchers associated with l'école supérieure d'art et design Grenoble-Valence. Each of these artists explore a dynamic between drawing, objects and video. Francois Daillant moves between wall drawing and constructed spatial installations, interrogating the relationship between materiality and graphic codes. Fanette Muxart also explores this relationship but in a playful exploration of the bond between gesture, image, material, object, concept and sign. Johan Sordelet is, in one sense, reviewing certain traditional approaches and materials, and renegotiating a contemporary context for his portrait drawings and watercolours which are amplified by video works.
The artists will give short presentations on their practice as well as questions in the gallery. This coincides with an exhibition of their work at Ruskin Gallery from 1 - 22 December.
