Painting - Interrupted...
A talk by Andrea Medjesi-Jones and David Ryan
Date: Wednesday 2 March 2011
Time: 14.00
Venue: Ruskin 211
With the publication of Terry Myers' 'Painting' (Documents of Contemporary Art, 2011) which looks at the discourses and dialogues formulated since the early 1980s around painting, the latter's position, either as tradition or problematic, gets asserted once more. Andrea Medjesi-Jones (PhD student in Fine Art) and David Ryan (Reader in Fine Art) will explore aspects of these debates but also discuss issues in relation to their own practices as well those of others.
