David Pushkin is a PhD student at Anglia, and an artist and filmmaker based in New York. His practice is currently within the field of experimental video. He is actively seeking out conceptual and formal concerns within video that address the issue of narrative structure and the relationship of moving image work to the role of memory and time. This forms a crucial dynamic between material and formation, between the articulation of 'voice' (a lyric narration) and the resistant, phenomenological nature of perception and matter.
His recent videos include Bodies (2010) and The Language of Birds (2010), which will form the basis of his talk.
