Soundings
Date: 6 October 2010
Time: 14.00
Venue: Ruskin 211
The screening of two artists' films concerned with sound: Sam Belinfante: The Taos Hum, 2010, and Helen Petts, Sea Shanties, 2010. Helen Petts' film is a homage to a musician/performer, the late Paul Burwell (a member of the influential Bow Gamelan Ensemble which also featured sculptor Richard Wilson). Sam Belinfante, a recent graduate from the Slade School of Fine Art, explores a community in a desert town, and the mystery of a strange noise heard by residents.
Both of these short films were recently screened at the mini-festival Be Glad for the Song Has No End which was held at Wysing Arts Centre.
